Renewal of 10-Year Long-Term Agreement for OCTG Supply with Shell

Nippon Steel Corporation (“Nippon Steel”) and Sumitomo Corporation have entered into a 10-year framework agreement with Shell Global Solutions International B.V. (“Shell”) for the global supply of oil country tubular goods (“OCTG”). A formal signing ceremony was held on October 14 in The Hague, Netherlands.

For over five decades, Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Corporation have been trusted suppliers of seamless OCTG products to Shell’s operating companies across more than 20 countries. This new agreement reflects this long history of collaboration and recognizes the comprehensive capabilities of both companies highlighting Nippon Steel’s consistent delivery of high-quality premium OCTG, alongside Sumitomo Corporation’s robust supply chain management services such as inventory control, maintenance and just-in-time delivery factored in this contracting decision.

This agreement reaffirms the commitment of all parties to ensure a secure and reliable supply of OCTG to support Shell’s global operations. Over the next decade, the partnership will focus on enhancing the value of the offering by expanding the product portfolio, optimizing supply chain efficiency, and leveraging digital technologies to improve traceability and transparency.
